Tightly sealed and waterproof, awning windows have hinges on the top and open toward the outside. They have the advantage of allowing for air flow, on both sides, even when it’s raining. They offer a panoramic view by eliminating the mullion found in other types of windows.

SOUNDPROOF INSULATED GLASS

• 4mm x 6mm LowE soundproof insulated glass unit, ENERGY STAR® certified
• One 4mm exterior pane and one 6mm interior LowE pane
• Made of two panes of different thicknesses, which do not vibrate at the same frequency

According to STC (Sound Transmission Class) analyses, comparisons show that regular insulated glass units have a sound transmission rating of 28, while an insulated unit made of a 4mm pane and a 6mm pane achieves an STC of 33.
