since 1967

Portes et fenêtres Verdun is a Quebec company that started modestly in Verdun. The company’s good reputation, combined with a team of dedicated and seasoned leaders, enabled it to make its mark in the market.

In the early 1980s, the company partnered with engineers and visited factories in Japan with the goal of opening the first modern steel door assembly plant in Quebec. By adding this string to its bow, the company thus became a manufacturer-retailer, which then gave it a lead over other retailers in the industry.

In 2000, the company diversified its activities and expanded its offerings. Leveraging its expertise in custom-made products, the brand introduced its kitchen line under the Verdun Kitchens banner, a turnkey service for kitchen projects.

Portes et fenêtres Verdun will experience impressive growth, notably thanks to the opening of affiliated stores. Always striving to adapt to the growing market demand, the company now has 10 branches in the greater metropolitan area and plans to continue expanding in the coming years.

Portes et fenêtres Verdun, a Quebec company with several hundred employees, firmly established for over 50 years, continued its development in 2019 through an investment of over $15 million in its manufacturing activities. The new factory covers an area of 70,000 square feet, and production capacity has tripled with its new CNC line.

STRATEGY
AND UNIFICATION

Initially a grouping of affiliated merchants, all the branches in Montreal, South Shore, and North Shore were acquired by Alain Pion, the founder’s son, between 2020 to 2024. He becomes the sole owner of Groupe Verdun, still under family control, with his two children, Catherine and Philippe. The main goal of the unification is to mobilize resources in order to guarantee an unparalleled customer experience.

  • Portes et fenêtres Verdun is the only company of its size in Greater Montreal to be fully integrated: manufacturing and distribution, specialized in residential.
  • Although our practice extends to suburban and urban areas, our distinctive mark lies in our specific expertise on the island of Montreal. In this market, renowned for its complexity, we are constantly developing best practices to better supervise and support our installers.
